Inver Hills Community Band formed in the year 2000 after two smaller bands, Inver Hills Symphonic Band and Inver Grove Heights Community Band, merged to form a bigger, better group.

Allison Allen, auxiliary percussionist, founded Inver Hills Community Band, and has worked as manager of the band since its inception.

The Conductor's baton has passed from John Salveson, to Mike Nelson, to the present Conductor in September 2002, Mr. Thomas Morris.
