New Music Fall and Winter 2003 |

We are very excited about the new music in this folder. Many hours, many days and months of listening, review and careful evaluation have taken place in order to pick out the music selections for our winter and holiday concerts. There are some great arrangements with wonderful melodies, lovely harmonies, exciting rhythms and great contrast and expression. Our Church Concert performances last year were so successful we planned to program an all new and exciting repertoire of music. Our audiences will continue to grow as they look forward to more outstanding concert performances by the band. We've got a great program planned. The Holiday On Main Street performance will feature more light and popular holiday arrangements. This is a short performance but the music will be very fitting for this casual half hour of entertainment. Our December auditorium concert will be half symphonic literature and half holiday selections. We have some excellent and challenging arrangements planned for this program. A word about our music purchases. Through another big music sale, we purchased several selections at large discounted prices and others at normal discount costs. Whatever the cost, all band selections are well arranged and good sounding band compositions. Certain pieces will take many rehearsals to prepare and others will not. All pieces will fit our program needs as explained above. Last fall Inver Hills Community Band worked up 16 new band works for the December concerts. We were able to accomplish that big task thanks to all of you. Having the music early and doing some home preparation saved us valuable rehearsal time allowing us to accomplish so much more. We are very excited about the music we have planned for our winter, spring and summer band concerts. Working together, with your musical talents, we will have another fun and enjoyable year of performing. Thank you for being part of Inver Hills Community Band.
