Audition Guidelines

|
Thank you for your interest in Inver Hills Community Band. To make the audition process go better for you and us, please read and follow the below listed procedures.
Please make sure you have printed out the audition music and guidelines for your instrument from our web site. www.ihcb.org
You need to bring all four audition sheets to your audition date, including Audition Scales, Cut-Time Etude, Six Eight Etude, and Rythmic Etude.
The time you are scheduled for is the official time your audition begins. Write down the date and time so there is no confusion. The audition time is not the time for you to warm up, oil your valves, change reeds, tune, etc. You have those things taken care of before your audition time starts.
Please allow enough time to find the Inver Hills Community College Fine Arts Building and band room and enough time to get in a good warm-up. The web site provides a detailed map.
If you are late to your audition time and someone else is scheduled after you, your audition will have to be rescheduled for a different day.
Since the conductor is arriving early to hear your audition, please do not be a no-show. If you need to cancel, plase contact the band using the Contact Us page at least two hours before, to notify us of your cancellation. Thanks for your courtesy in this matter.
Thank you for showing professionalism in this audition process. We wish you good luck in your preparation and audition effort.
